Enroll Now! 2010-2011 New OB Residents, Kindergarteners, CHOICE, and Enrollment Options Students!

Our office in now open for new enrollment! If you would like to enroll your child please read this information.

We encourage all local Ocean Beach families to enroll their kindergarten and school-age children early for the fall. If you reside in our neighborhood enrollment area, all you need to do is contact our school office. Our office staff will be available through the third week of July and will return the second week of August. You may also contact our principal via email: mjohnson1@sandi.net

If you reside outside of our enrollment area:

Although the first CHOICE deadline has closed, you still may be able to enroll at Ocean Beach on a space available basis if:

You are a new resident to San Diego and your child is not currently enrolled in a SDUSD school.

You have a verified change of residence/address and now live in our community.

You were not informed of the Choice process prior to February 15.

Families residing within the Barnard Elementary School area are not required to complete a Choice application. Barnard is now a Mandarin Chinese Magnet and if you do not wish your child be in an immersion Mandarin Kindergarten or First grades or participate in the program in other grades, you may enroll at Ocean Beach.

All other applications will be on a case-by-case basis. You must contact the school to discuss your enrollment needs. These applications will be prioritized by date and time received and

Information Regarding 2010-2011 Choice Enrollment due Feb. 15

Parent/guardians must complete the 2010-2011 application by prioritizing schools in a 1, 2,3 order of preference. Be sure to list Ocean Beach Elementary as your #1 Preference. The Office of Enrollment Options will place students in order at school sites on a space available basis. There will be only one offer of enrollment per student based on the parent/guardian’s designated priority.
Enrollment Options will send out letters of acceptance to parents and will have a three week window to respond to school enrollment. Schools will not have a ranked listing of applicants; parents will have to contact Enrollment Options to see where their child is on the waiting list.
